Lobsters Newsletter - Spring Term 2

Welcome back Lobsters class, we hope you had a great half term break and feel recharged and ready to learn!

We will be starting our new topic ‘Memory Box’ this half term, which focuses on changes over time, family and community. The aim is to develop the children’s knowledge and appreciation of the local environment, special memories, customs and traditions, and growing up! The children will have the opportunity to experience different historic toys in there memorable moment activity on the 14th March as well as being able to gain a greater understanding of their family history and connections to their lives.

The children will continue to focus on their early reading and writing skills, developing their understanding of letter sounds from the Read Write inc scheme of work. Some children will be focusing on simple sentence structure, and progressing their writing further.

In Maths some of the children will be continuing to focus on numbers and place value to 10 at the beginning of the half term, they will then be revisiting common 2D shapes as the half-term progresses. There will be some children who will be introduced to measurements, covering length, height, weight and volume.

Thank you for all your continued support and communication!
