Jellyfish Newsletter - Spring Term 1

Happy New Year, we hope you all had a good break.

Our topic this term is “Fairytale Magic” and our learning will all be connected to the topic. Our focused stories will be Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. This collection all have links to Maths, English, Science, Art/D&T Geography and P.E, and provide lots of opportunities for role play and investigation. For our ‘Memorable Experience’ we will be visiting bridges in and around our local area. We also hope to visit Church Farm to see the goats. We will also be listening to lots of other stories during our timetabled daily reading.

In other activities this term we will be celebrating Chinese New Year. Some of us will be visiting Wing Wahs and we will also have sensory based activities during the day in the classroom. We also have a stay and play for Jellyfish on February 14th, this will be everything Valentines and we hope you can join us.

Last term was very busy but we managed lots of lovely activities with our Sparkle Topic, we included October 31st, November 5th and Children in Need. We explored things that sparkled and changed when using lights, torches and UV lights. This led us into December and we experienced lots of Christmas based activities and of course took place in the Christmas concert– Lost in Disney. Father Christmas visited us and was a great hit. We had Christmas jumper Day and I am proud to say everyone in Jellyfish wore a Christmas themed jumper. We visited Byrkley Garden Centre and enjoyed looking at all the Christmas displays. We had a fabulous Christmas dinner and a disco. A busy but enjoyable half term.
