Seals Newsletter - Spring Term 1

Welcome back! We hope you have had a lovely break and the children are excited to be back. We would love to hear about any stories, or see photographs, of their adventures or achievements using the half term snapshots sheet that was sent home.

Over the previous term, the children have taken part in independent, 1:1 and group activities across all areas in a child-initiated environment and have had the opportunity to regularly visit the sensory room, ball pool, swimming pool, adventure playground and trips out into the community. We particularly enjoyed out trip to the Christmas Scene at Byrkley Garden Centre. The children have been developing their social skills through playing alongside their peers and beginning to acknowledge their presence.

This half term we are starting a new topic called ’Why don’t snakes have legs?’ We aim to experience lots of opportunities in nature during our outdoor learning sessions and we have a visit from the animal man planned to have the opportunity to touch and see the reptiles. We are going to be exploring different animal habitats and learning about similarities and differences between ourselves as well as the animals.

We look forward to supporting the children in their learning and watch them grow and achieve as young individuals.
