Well what a wet start and end to the week! The weather is definitely changing as the autumn season is taking hold, so it is a good opportunity to remind parents/carers that should your child have Forest School, please send old clothes in for them to change into. Please do not buy anything new to wear as it is likely to get muddy, old warm clothes are welcome.
Ideally children will wear:
Long sleeved t-shirt
Long trousers
During the colder months, extra layers such as a fleece or an old jumper, hats and gloves.
Wellingtons or old boots/trainers.
Again, there is no need to buy anything new and we do have some waterproofs and wellingtons available to borrow from school. If you are uncertain on which day your child does have Forest School, please contact their class teacher or myself.
Children have again been taking advantage of the natural resources and have been exploring, painting, mark making and rolling with them. Children have been developing their fine motor skills in a ‘Feed the squirrel game’ and manipulating different resources.
The Mud kitchen area has now been revamped and we have received a kind donation of a mud kitchen and bench, for the children to develop their creativity and role-play skills. Pupils have already had lots of fun this week making mud cakes!
KS1 and KS2 classes have been making conker comets and have had lots of fun throwing them to see whose can fly the furthest.
Some of the KS2 classes have planted some grasses into our sensory path planters and did a great job, despite the rain.
