Turtles Newsletter - Autumn Term 1

Welcome back we hope you have had a fantastic summer break.

The Turtles class will be once again running a “Life skills programme” Following the Autism progression Curriculum giving our young ones every opportunity to grow in confidence and independence.

We would also like to thank you all for your continued support and please do not hesitate to contact any member of the Turtles team if you require any information regarding your child whilst at school.

Our new topic for this term will be “Do Dragons Exist ? ”, we will look at a fantastic interactive sensory story using sounds and different materials to explore and link this in with our outdoor learning visiting a range of national trust properties.

The Turtles class will again be accessing local areas of interest and activities including Derby Clip and Climb, Shobnall Bikes, Scropton riding stables and our weekly visits to the local supermarkets and cafes.

We have ALL noticed a big improvement in the way our children are interacting with their peers and in the community generally, this as a big part of our class ethos and feel it a vital part of our children's development into becoming young adults , the staff are all very proud of the achievements our children have made.
