Turtles Newsletter - Spring Term 1

Writer: Fountains Primary SchoolFountains Primary School

Welcome back! We hope you have all enjoyed your winter break and have stayed safe and well.

Unfortunately Covid is still with us all and we will endeavour to keep safe at school as well as making sure all of our young ones join in with a wide range of learning experiences.

This half term our topic is ‘What is a shadow”?. We will have a class interactive story, look at shadows through our environmental walks, forest school and also link into our Art and DT lessons.

The Turtles class will also be accessing some National Trust properties who are running “Percy the Park Keeper” sessions throughout January. We will also be joining in with our Clip and Climb at Derby and weather permitting continuing to visit Shobnall leisure complex for bike/trike riding.

We especially enjoy story time and reading in class, this is a fantastic way to get our children to join in with their peers and adults with some important learning opportunities for communication and interaction. We are also going to access Burton Library this term who will be running some lovely interactive story time sessions.
